Aloe Vera Barbadensis
Aloe Vera is a succulent plant species of the genus Aloe. An evergreen perennial, it originates from the Arabian Peninsula, but grows wild in tropical, semi-tropical, and arid climates around the world. It is cultivated for agricultural and medicinal uses. The species is also used for decorative purposes and grows successfully indoors as a potted plant.
It is found in many consumer products including beverages, skin lotion, cosmetics, ointments or in the form of gel for minor burns and sunburns.
Position: bright but indirect light
Soil: well drained loam-based potting compost with added extra grit. We recommend John Innes no. 2 when re-potting the plant.
Rate of growth: slow
Flowering period: early summer
Hardiness: tender (indoors only)

Total height: 50-55 cm (Plant + Pot)
Home care: Water moderately when growing, and sparingly when dormant through the winter months. Feed with a balanced liquid fertiliser only once in Spring and once again in Summer (during the growing season).
